Summer hugelkultur production

Our hugelkulturs are doing really well this summer thanks to planting efforts, some strategic watering with the help of our local fire department and assistance with soil and plant health provided by local gardener, Dr. Shemuel Israel. Our One Summer Chicago interns worked alongside Dr. Israel to learn about plant health, common pests and problems that can be overcome with proper nutrients added to the soil and sprayed on plant leaves.
