We got a delivery of compost rich soil to spread on our hugelkultur beds. This year in the hugelkulturs we will grow squash and sweet potatoes for North Lawndale's Bernard J Tyson Impact Fund Grant project. This soil will allow for better production during the third year of our hugelkultur mounds.
Andrew is checking out that good earth! We will rent a skid steer to move the soil as our hugelkutur mounds are 75 ft in length.
Moving right along, Andrew is using his carpentry skills to complete our PermaPark entrance sign. These gabion planters will be used as seating and to stabilize our sign.
