Baby chicks!

 They say at some point you must add animals to your food forest and this spring we hatched chicks through the University of Illinois Extension's 4-H program.

From our efforts we hatched a single chick -- Nugget.  We found Nugget some friends at the local feed and seed store. Nugget is a Leghorn and the others include a Rhode Island Red, an Amber link, a Black sex link and an Americana.

Soon they will have a new coop to call home ... we have the lumber and the plans ... to be continued.
