SAIC Designed Objects class and CCA students visit Open Center for the Arts and check out some local gardens

On Wednesday March 20th, CCA students working on our food forest design project toured the Open Center for the Arts and had a chance to meet with events coordinator Fernando Aburto and Gallery Director, Omar Magana. Students saw two exhibits and learned about the Open Center for the Arts proposal to renovate a section of Marshall Boulevard into a plaza or Zocala that represents all the states from Mexico. Their plan calls for keeping as much of the boulevard area as green as they can, opting for permeable pathways rather than blacktop of concrete.
